
In December 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, Georgia's revenues from international travel increased by 188.1%.
In particular, according to the statistics published on the NBG (National Bank of Georgia) website, in December last year, the revenues from foreign travelers amounted to $363.3 million, while in the same period of 2021, this figure amounted to $126.1 million. In the pandemic December 2020, the revenues from travel amounted to $14.5 million.
It is noteworthy that in December 2022, Georgia received more revenues from international travel than in the same period of 2019 before the pandemic. Particularly, in December 2019, the country received 217.2 million US dollars in revenues from foreign travelers.
Russian tourists spent 896.5 million US dollars in Georgia last year. This is actually an annual increase of 491.4%. In the same period last year, the revenues received from Russian travelers amounted to $151.6 million.
