According to TBC Capital's research conducted on the wine sector, the price of Georgian export wine was increasing from 2017 to 2019.
The pandemic, as well as a focus on relatively cheap markets, has reduced the average price of wine in 2020. Last year, the share of Russia and Ukraine in wine exports was 66%. Since 2020, the price of wine in these markets has been decreasing, which has also affected the income from exports.
According to TBC Capital, Georgian wine is the most expensive in Japan, the USA and Germany. In 2021, the price of wine on export markets increased annually. Consequently, the average price of one liter of Georgian wine in Ukraine was $2.62, the average price of wine in Russia was $2.76.The most expensive wine produced in Georgia is sold in Japan and the average price of a liter reaches $7. As for the priority markets of Georgian wine, Poland and the Baltic countries, the average price of a liter varies between $2.78 and $3.28. The average price of a liter in China is $3.73, and in the USA - $6.38.
