Mikheil Chkhenkeli informed the public about the steps taken by the Ministry to support science.
"I would like to inform you that the negotiations between the European Commission and the Government of Georgia on the new EU Framework Programme Horizon Europe and the European Research Area, which will be signed in the near future. It has been agreed that the representatives of Georgia in the competitions of the Horizon Europe program will enjoy exactly the same conditions and rights as the representatives of the field of science and innovation of the EU countries," - said the Minister.
He also said that the Gori University will soon have a new library building that will meet modern standards and create comfortable conditions for students to study. The new building will house a youth center, where various educational events with the participation of students will be held and will diversify student life.
The function of Horizon Europe Grant Offices will be not only to disseminate information about the EU competitions, but also to assist Georgian research teams in preparing and subsequently managing a competitive project application. It is important to create and implement scientific projects in collaboration with the leading EU research institutes, which will significantly contribute to the internationalization of science.
The event held at the Gori University was attended by Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Nunu Mitskevich, Rector of Gori State Teaching University, Giorgi Sosiashvili, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Jaba Samushia and other invited guests.
