August 18 marks the birthday of Giorgi Antsukhelidze, the Georgian soldier who gave his life during the 2008 Russo-Georgian war. He would have turned 41 today.

To commemorate his legacy, military personnel, local government officials, and residents of his hometown, Kvemo Alvani, gathered at his memorial. They laid flowers and paid tribute to the national hero. A memorial service was also held by clergy from the Alaverdi Diocese, honoring his courage and sacrifice.
