
"From the United Arab Emirates, the highest demand for agricultural products is recorded," - Mariam Gabunia, Head of the Foreign Trade Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, said. According to her, the free trade agreement with the Emirates will be signed by the end of the year.
"This agreement covers the liberalization of trade in both goods and services. We have completed the work on the relevant text and by the end of the year the agreement on free trade will enter into force. Within the framework of the agreement, we tried to cover all the products that are attractive for us to export. There is a particularly high and growing demand from the Emirates for agricultural and industrial products, including sheep, mineral drinks and others," said Mariam Gabunia.
Georgia has signed free trade agreements with 45 countries, which constitutes 1/3 of the total world market and means access to a total of 2.3 billion consumers.
