
Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze met with Pat Garcia-Gonzalez, Founder and Executive Director of the Max Foundation, to explore ways to expand access to treatment for patients with cancer and rare diseases in Georgia.
The Max Foundation, an international healthcare organization active in Georgia since 2003, supports patients with chronic myeloid leukemia, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, renal cell carcinoma, and other rare cancers by providing essential medications in partnership with the Ministry of Health.
The discussion focused on improving access to life-saving therapies for patients with oncohematological and rare conditions, enhancing core healthcare services, and introducing innovative care models to strengthen the country’s health system.
Minister Sarjveladze expressed gratitude for the Max Foundation’s long-standing contribution to Georgia’s healthcare sector and underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration to raise the quality of medical services nationwide.
Pat Garcia-Gonzalez praised Georgia’s commitment to patient-centered care, and both parties reaffirmed their intention to deepen cooperation in support of healthcare development.
