Handling of dry cargo in Batumi Sea Port increased by 33%

Handling of dry cargo has increased in the Batumi Sea Port. According to the port management, 1.2 million tons of dry cargo was handled in the Batumi seaport in 2021, which is the maximum indicator after 2018. Dry shipping increased by 33%.

The rate of oil and petroleum product refining also increased from 1.2 million to 1.5 million. The recycling rate of containers has been reduced. A total of 99,187 TEU containers were recycled in the port in 2021 - 4,115 units less than in 2020. The volume of cargo transported by ferries amounted to 513 thousand tons.

It should be noted that in 2021, a new multimodal terminal transporting mineral fertilizers was opened in Batumi, on the territory of the port, which will connect products imported from Asia to the European market.

The Batumi Sea Port includes several terminals: oil, container and dry cargo terminals.
