In one year, the gross external debt of Georgia increased by $ 562,149 million.
According to the data published by the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as of December 2023, the gross external debt of Georgia exceeded $8.907 billion, at the December 15 exchange rate it exceeded GEL 23.956 billion.
As of December 2022, the amount of debt was $8.345 billion or GEL 22.549 billion at the then exchange rate.
In addition, as of December 2023, the biggest creditors of the Georgian state are: the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the International Bank for Development (IBRD).
In particular, the gross external debt to the EIB is $1.143 billion, to the IBRD exceeds $1.525 billion, and to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) - amounts to $2.281 billion.
