Abba Alaverdeli was awarded the title of Honorary Member of the Union of Architects for his contribution made to the development of the Georgian architecture.

As Davit Abuladze, Chairman of the Union of Architects of Georgia, stated at the award ceremony, the activities of Reverend David in the field of the Georgian architecture and culture are very important. He highlighted the cooperation between business and the church, citing it between the Diocese of Alaverdi and the company Badagoni as examples.

"Today we got acquainted with and witnessed an example of the cooperation between the church and business, while the company Badagoni participates in the church-restoration activities. Involving architects in this process and getting information is very important to us. It is a role model and it is gratifying that Badagoni makes a significant contribution not only to the development of business, but also to the Georgian culture,” - Davit Abuladze said. 

Reverend Abba Alaverdeli thanked the Union of Architects and said that in the history, the culture lasts only during its lifetime and an example of this is the historic Alaverdi cellar restored by the company Badagoni.

"When we decided to restore the historic cellar in Alaverdi together with the company Badagoni, we were thinking about what it should be like, because the culture lasts only during its lifetime. If it does not maintained, it is only a museum exhibit, "- Abba Alaverdeli said and underscored the importance of the establishment of the Union of Architects in Kakheti region.

The award ceremony was attended by representatives of local authorities, Telavi Municipality Mayor, Levan Andriashvili, First Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Kakha Sikharulidze, as well as Deputy State Representative in Kakheti region, Givi Metreveli, who also got acquainted with the Alaverdi development plan.

According to the Mayors of Telavi and Akhmeta Municipalities, the cooperation between Badagoni and the Diocese of Alaverdi and the Alaverdi development plan are crucial for the local infrastructure. They said that as a result of this cooperation, Alaverdi will become an even greater center of attraction, which is a useful project of national importance.

The members of the Union of Architects and the representatives of the local government also visited the Badagoni winery, where they got acquainted with the wine bottling process. The founder of Badagoni, Gogi Salakaia, talked about his future plans with the Diocese of Alaverdi.
