
Davit Narmania, the Chairman of the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia, opened an energy conference organized by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC).
Davit Narmania delivered a welcome speech to the participants of the meeting, focusing on the importance of the contribution and support of USAID and NARUC for the energy sector of Georgia. Together with the GNERC’s Chairman, David Hoffman, a representative of USAID, Yulia Bagirova, representative of the NARUC, and Emilia Terentova, representative of Power Central Asia, gave a speech at the meeting.
“The GNERC has a 25-year history of cooperation with USAID and NARUC. Within the framework of cooperation, we have received and are receiving enormous experience, valuable information from regional programs, relevant conferences and bilateral meetings. Today we are ready to share our experience with other countries that are now going through the stages that the GNERC has experienced for 25 years. There are many projects with which the GNERC stands out among the regulatory commissions of different countries, therefore, in order to share experience, we will actively participate in the meetings organized by USAID/NARUC," - Davit Narmania stated.
On September 26-30, the meetings organized by USAID/NARUC are scheduled to be held in Tbilisi, which the heads of regulatory commissions and public agencies of the Central Asian countries participate in. The GNERC representatives will share their experience on energy sector regulation, tariff policy, finance and logistics issues with the meeting participants. In addition, they will talk about the experience of public relations, the importance of cooperation with the media and the "Media Club" project, which represents the best practices shared within the framework of the USAID/NARUC program.
