One of the largest Lithuanian logistics companies Girteka in Europe has become a beneficiary of the Mechanism for Promoting Foreign Investment Projects (FDI grant in Georgia) of the Enterprise Georgia state program. Girteka is the second beneficiary of the mentioned program.
As part of the program, the company will create 400 new jobs and invest 1,000,000 euros in the next three years. The company will return 15% of the invested amount as a grant.
"The purpose of the FDI grant program is to encourage potential and existing investors in Georgia. In particular, to make new and additional investments in high-value-added sectors, which in turn ensures the creation of new jobs and strengthening of the economy.
Within the framework of the state program, international companies can receive up to 15% cashback in case of implementation of export-oriented business services activities, along with other sectors," - the Enterprise Georgia Agency reports.
At the stage of selecting the investment location, Girteka actively cooperated with the Invest in Georgia team of the Invest in Georgia Agency to study the potential in the country and chose Georgia due to the qualified workforce and ease of doing business. The company opened a Global Business Services (GBS) in Tbilisi last year and currently employs 65 people in Georgia and plans to increase the number of employees to 200 by the end of this year.
