
Giorgi Khanishvili, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, met with John Ellenberger, CEO of the American company Land O’Lakes Venture37.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of the current and further cooperation around the project "Safety and Quality Investment in Livestock".
"It is important to have your support, knowledge and experience, for which I would like to thank you. Through joint efforts, we have achieved significant results in terms of improving food safety and quality standards in the livestock sector," - Giorgi Khanishvili said.
Giorgi Khanishvili spoke about the challenges existing in the sector and stressed the importance of breeding, effective pasture management, increasing the number of animal feed bases and arranging food storage infrastructure for the country.
As Ellenberger noted, the progress made in the sector is visible and the cooperation will further extend.
The meeting held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia was attended by the heads of the relevant departments and agencies of the Ministry.
The project "Safety and Quality Investment in Livestock" funded by the US Department of Agriculture in Georgia (USDA) is being implemented by the American company Land O'Lakes Venture37 in cooperation with the Georgian Farmers’ Association.
