Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, confirmed he has received a residence permit in Germany, allowing him to work in Europe.
Speaking on TV Pirveli, Gakharia emphasized that the permit is not political asylum but a work visa tied to his ongoing political and expert activities focused on Georgia’s European integration.
“This is not about political asylum — it’s a work permit. My work will focus on Georgia, EU integration, and enlargement toward the East,” he said.
Gakharia stated he will continue serving Georgia from Germany and has no immediate plans to return to Tbilisi.
