In 2023, compared to last year, Georgia’s trade turnover with the CIS countries increased by almost 1 billion US dollars. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January-September 2023, trade with the mentioned countries amounted to 5,470 billion US dollars, in 9 months of 2022 - 4,487 billion US dollars.
In addition, this year, out of 5,470 billion US dollars, 2,969 billion US dollars were earned from Georgia's exports (last year it amounted to 1,868 billion US dollars), and 2,501 billion US dollars - from imports.
Most of these products were imported from Russia this year, which accounts for 52% of imports, followed by Azerbaijan with 18% and Armenia with 11%.
More specifically, according to the indicators of the products imported in January-September 2023, the list of the top 5 countries is as follows:
Russia - 1.3 billion USD
Azerbaijan - 451.345 million USD
Armenia - 286,681 million USD
Belarus - 80,247 million USD
Turkmenistan - 52,780 million USD
