According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), last month the minimum subsistence level for a man of working age was 254.5 GEL., while in May 2023, this figure was 253.7 GEL.
As for the living wage of an average customer, it was determined at 225.4 GEL in the 6th month of this year. While in May 2023 – at 224.7 GEL, and in June 2022 – at 226.1 GEL.
To be informed, the living wage is determined based on the minimum food basket. The minimum grocery basket is a defined normative basket of food products, which contains the amount of food physiologically necessary for the normal life and working capacity of a man of working age, its constituent elements (proteins, fats and carbohydrates) and the minimum amount of calories.
