
The Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Nino Tandilashvili delivered a speech at the Japanese business forum held in Georgia to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Japan-Georgia diplomatic relations.
The purpose of the business forum was to further deepen the relations between Japan and Georgia and establish a connection between the business representatives of the countries participating in the forum.
In her speech, Nino Tandilashvili thanked the Embassy of Japan for promoting the deepening of cooperation between the countries and noted that the Japanese government had been supporting Georgia in various environmental issues for years.
"Georgia and Japan signed a memorandum of cooperation on the creation of a Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), within the framework of which Japan will cooperate with Georgia in the direction of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Georgia aims to access new technologies and implement activities at the national level. JCM should promote the deepening of cooperation between the private sectors of our countries to solve various environmental issues", - Nino Tandilashvili said.
The participants of the event talked about the sustainable business environment, trade potential of the region and energy and climate-related issues.
The business forum was organized by the Japanese Embassy in Georgia and the Georgian Business Association.
