During an official visit to the Republic of Türkiye, Georgia’s First Lady Tamar Bagrationi met with Türkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace, where the two held a private meeting focused on environmental and cultural cooperation.
In a significant gesture of support, First Lady Bagrationi signed the Global Commitment to Zero Waste, an international initiative launched by Emine Erdoğan in 2017. The declaration promotes environmental protection, waste reduction, and recycling, with the broader goal of raising global awareness about responsible waste management.
Since its inception, the initiative has grown into a worldwide movement, with over 15,900 signatories from 112 countries. Georgia’s formal participation through Bagrationi’s signature marks the country’s inclusion in this growing global effort.
Following the meeting, Emine Erdoğan hosted Georgia’s First Lady on a tour of the Presidential Library located within the Turkish Presidential Residence.
