
In the third quarter of 2025, Georgia’s business sector experienced significant growth, with turnover rising 10.0% year-on-year to 64.7 billion GEL, according to the National Statistics Office (GeoStat). Production value also increased by 9.7%, reaching 25.4 billion GEL.
Large enterprises continued to dominate the market, contributing 67.5% of total turnover, while medium-sized businesses accounted for 14.5% and small businesses 18.0%. In production value, large businesses held 46.1%, medium-sized 23.2%, and small businesses 30.8%.
Enterprise purchases of goods and services totaled 33.5 billion GEL, up 8.8% from the previous year, with 19.2 billion GEL spent on goods and services intended for resale (an 8.9% increase).
Employment in the business sector rose 3.3% year-on-year to 814.7 thousand, with women representing 43.0% of the workforce. Large businesses employed 42.1%, medium-sized 19.9%, and small businesses 38.0%. The total number of employees reached 758.0 thousand (a 2.0% increase), and personnel costs grew 13.1%, totaling 5.6 billion GEL.
The average monthly salary was 2,420.9 GEL, up 230.8 GEL from the previous year. Women earned an average of 1,846.9 GEL, reflecting a 144.5 GEL increase. By business size, average salaries were:
Large enterprises: 2,498.3 GEL
Medium enterprises: 2,801.6 GEL
Small enterprises: 2,072.5 GEL
By sector, arts, entertainment, and recreation accounted for the largest share of turnover (34.5%), followed by trade (33.5%), manufacturing (7.8%), construction (6.3%), transportation and storage (4.6%), and information and communication (3.4%).
In terms of production value, trade (18.6%), manufacturing (18.3%), and construction (18.2%) were nearly equal, followed by transportation and storage (9.4%) and information and communication (8.4%).
Employment was highest in trade (29.1%), manufacturing (11.3%), and human health and social work (9.2%), with other notable sectors including construction (8.5%), transportation and storage (8.2%), information and communication (6.4%), and accommodation and food services (5.7%).
