
In February 2025, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.4% month-over-month, with an annual inflation rate of 2.4%, according to the National Statistics Service (GeoStat).
Core inflation increased by 2.1% annually, while core inflation excluding tobacco stood at 2.0%.
The monthly inflation was mainly driven by:

Food and non-alcoholic beverages: Prices rose by 0.7%, adding 0.2 percentage points to the overall inflation. Significant price increases were seen in fruits (4.8%), mineral waters and juices (4.6%), vegetables (3.3%), and meat (0.7%). In contrast, prices fell for sugar, dairy, fish, and bread.

Health: Prices increased by 2.3%, contributing 0.18 percentage points to the index, particularly for hospital services (7.1%) and outpatient services (2.4%).

Clothing and footwear: Prices dropped by 2.8%, reducing the overall inflation rate by -0.13 percentage points, with footwear and clothing decreasing by 3.0% and 2.6%, respectively.
