Georgia’s Ambassador to the Holy See, Davit Mekvabishvili, has presented copies of his credentials to Giampaolo Cantini, Secretary General for Foreign Affairs of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Following the formal ceremony, the two officials held a meeting to discuss the strong ties between Georgia and the Order of Malta, emphasizing opportunities for deepening cooperation.

Special attention was given to the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories and the government’s peaceful efforts toward restoring the country’s territorial integrity.

Secretary General Cantini congratulated Ambassador Mekvabishvili on his appointment, wished him success in his diplomatic mission, and expressed interest in visiting Georgia in the future.
