Addressing the World Tourism Organization Assembly, Pololikashvili focused on how to quickly restore the tourism sector most affected by the pandemic.

After re-approval as Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili named agricultural tourism and regional development as his main priorities. 

The Spanish capital is hosting the Assembly of the World Tourism Organization. Because of the coronavirus, the Assembly convened for the first time after a three-year pause. Tomorrow, the decision made months ago in Greece will come into force, which means that Georgia will officially take over the status of a member of the organization. Until then, the main topic of the Assembly's agenda is to overcome the difficulties and challenges emerged in the tourism sector as soon as possible.

Financial and political support for tourism and introduction of travel restrictions in the most extreme cases due to the pandemic, are one of the main messages addressed to the Assembly.
