UEFA's Technical Observer panel on Sunday named Napoli's Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia the Champions League Young Player of the Season.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia played nine games, contributing two goals and four assists, as his side reached the quarter-finals of Europe's top club competition during the past season, before losing to domestic rivals AC Milan.
"Kvaratskhelia's first season in Serie A was stunning too. He helped Napoli to win their first Serie A title since 1990 and was named as the league’s Player of the Season. So impressive have his performances been that he has been nicknamed 'Kvaradona', a nod to Napoli's Argentinian great Diego Maradona”, comments from UEFA for the prize said.
