As part of his working visit to Georgia, Mr. Michael Mandel, official representative of Messe Düsseldorf for Moldova, the South Caucasus, and Asia, met with Zurab Vacharadze, Deputy Chairman of Georgia’s National Wine Agency, to discuss ongoing and future collaboration in promoting Georgian wine internationally.
Messe Düsseldorf, based in Germany, is the organizer of ProWein, one of the world’s premier wine and spirits trade fairs, with flagship events in Düsseldorf and satellite exhibitions across the globe.
During the meeting, held at the National Wine Agency’s headquarters, the two sides reviewed Georgia’s extensive history with ProWein, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the country’s participation in the Düsseldorf event earlier this year. The discussion also explored opportunities to feature Georgian wine more prominently at upcoming ProWein exhibitions in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Brazil.
Elene Kiknadze, Head of the Events and Exhibitions Division of the Agency’s Marketing and Public Relations Department, also participated in the meeting.
Georgia’s presence at ProWein continues to be a cornerstone of its wine export strategy. This year alone, Georgian wine was showcased not only in Düsseldorf, but also in Japan and China, with the support of the National Wine Agency.
ProWein serves as a critical platform for wine producers to build relationships with global importers, stay informed about emerging technologies, and promote their products to a broader international audience. The meeting affirmed Georgia’s commitment to deepening its engagement with global markets and strengthening its position as a leading wine-producing country.
