“An unprecedented increase in sales of Georgian wine was recorded in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2023 and between January-August of the current year,” - the National Wine Agency of Georgia said.
Up to 900,000 litres of wine were exported to the US in 2024, marking a 66 percent year-on-year increase, it added.
"The increase came as a result of a promotional campaign it has been implementing with the contractor company Colangelo & Partners in the US. The consumer-oriented advertising campaign implemented in the US and cooperation with such media outlets as CBS and CNN worked successfully”, the body said.
Paul Yanon, the Vice President of Colangelo & Partners, last week also noted consumption of Georgian wine, particularly the amber varieties, was “on the rise” in the US.
Yanon arrived in the country in September with a group of 12 industry professionals from the US to learn about Georgian wine history and culture.
The tour covered Georgian wine-producing companies in the regions of Kakheti and Kartli, where the visitors had the opportunity to learn about domestic winemaking technology and sample both classical and traditional wines on-site.
