Georgian weightlifter Irakli Vekua becomes world champion at Youth World Weightlifting Championships

A Georgian weightlifter Irakli Vekua earned one silver and two gold medals at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships, becoming the world champion, the Georgian Weightlifting Federation said.
At the championship held in Albania, Vekua claimed the silver medal lifting 141 kg in snatch and won two gold medals for 179 kg in clean and jerk, and for a total of 320 kg in the +102 kg category of the tournament.
Recently, two Georgian athletes Mariam Murgvliani and Saba Adamia have become vice-champions in their respective weight categories.
