The General Director of the company, Giorgi Tabagari, said that the first export market of Georgian vegetable oil will be the United Arab Emirates. The company has already started working in this direction.
"Negotiations are underway to export the Karva-produced oil to the United Arab Emirates. The first batch can be exported in the second half of March, during which the sunflower plant operating in Dedoplistskaro, which is managed by the company, will be fully operational and as a result we will be able to export refined corn and sunflower oil in this direction. The initial volume of exports will be about 100 tons.
The head of the Georgian oil company, which is targeted at the premium segment, says that the demand for their product was from Europe prior to the pandemic, and after the United Arab Emirates, Karva plans to intensify exports to Europe.
To be informed: the Georgian Vegetable Oil Company Karva has been producing vegetable oils for the local market since 2005. Until 2020, the company operated a sunflower oil plant in Kakheti, specifically in Dedoplistskaro, with a capacity of 150 tons of oil, while since 2020, the company has also been managing a project of a corn oil plant in Khobi with a capacity of 70 tons of oil, but for various reasons, both plants were temporarily closed in the fall of 2020 and could only be put into operation in November 2021.
