Ekaterine Gorgodze, aged 29, reached the final of the competition with Bara, a local favourite, where the two overcame the resistance of the Netherlands' Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove and Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia.
The Georgian-Romanian duo claimed the win in one hour and 20 minutes with the final score of 4-6, 6-1, 11-9. The result saw them take $10,300 as well as 280 WTA points for doubles rankings.
They reached the final with three wins, starting with a victory in the Last 16 round against the German duo of Mona Barthel and Anna-Lena Friedsam, with the scoreboard showing 7-5, 6-2 at the conclusion of the fixture.
That was followed by a quarterfinal win through the score 7-6, 6-3 against Russia's Ekaterina Yashina and Alena Fomina-Klotz, and a semifinal victory against local favourites Andreea Mitu and Irina-Camerlia Begu.
Ekaterine Gorgodze, ranked 78th in doubles, also entered the singles category at the Transylvania competition, however was defeated in the first qualifying round by Japan's Yuriko Miyazaki 4-6, 5-7.
