“The Head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Levan Kakava, hosted the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman, which was guided by the Chairman of the Tax Authority of Oman, Saud Al-Shukail,” - the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance reports.
The purpose of the visit is to deepen mutual cooperation and get acquainted with the successful reforms implemented in the Revenue Service. The mentioned visit was carried out within the framework of the ongoing project of the Policy and Management Consulting Group (PMCG) in the Revenue Service.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the importance of sharing experience between the Tax Authorities of Georgia and the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the need to strengthen institutional capabilities and professional development of personnel.
The representatives of the Revenue Service briefed the members of the delegation on the ongoing reforms in the agency and answered the questions. The introductory meeting was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Revenue Service, Paata Kiladze, the Head of the Audit Department, Zaal Tkeshelashvili, as well as the Head of the Methodology Department, Roman Bugadze, the Head of the International Relations Department, Samson Uridia, and other leaders.
Following the meeting, the Head of the Revenue Service, Levan Kakava, thanked the Chairman of the Tax Authority of Oman and expressed his willingness to continue partnership relations.
The representatives of the Tax Authority of Oman held working meetings with their counterparts from various departments of the Revenue Service and listened to prepared presentations on taxpayer services, as well as legal compliance management, tax audits, dispute resolution, VAT refund and tax debt management.
The members of the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman also visited Tbilisi's economic zone of registration and got acquainted with the simplified procedures of registration necessary for the import of goods on the spot.
