"There were opinions [about the creation of a state bank] a few years ago, during the tenure of the previous Prime Minister, then no consensus was reached due to a huge resistance, including from Mamuka Khazaradze [TBC Bank Co-founder] and other bankers, because they did not want to compete with the state and the government," - the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said in response to a question asked by the MPs in the Parliament regarding the establishment of a state bank.
According to the Prime Minister, this issue is transparent.
"This issue is transparent; I do not have an answer to it today. If you have opinions, I would be happy to hear and share them, I will take into account your ideas,"- Irakli Gharibashvili stated.
