
The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, Ashot Smbatyan.
Relations and cooperation between Georgia and Armenia were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Georgian prime minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Ashot Smbatyan, Armenia’s newly appointed ambassador to the country.
The two officials reviewed the existing relations and prospects for future cooperation, the government administration said.
They focused on the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, with Gharibashvili noting Georgia was ready to continue its “successful” mediation between neighbouring countries.
The Prime Minister of Georgia congratulated Ashot Smbatyan on his appointment to the new position and wished him successful work", - the press service of the Prime Minister declared.
