According to the President’s press service, the President of Georgia was met at the Vienna International Airport by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria.
According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Austria Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the first official visit of the President of Georgia to the Republic of Austria is a very important positive impetus for the dynamics of relations between the two countries.
"During this visit, meetings will be held with the OSCE Secretary General, as well as with a group of female ambassadors to the OSCE. The President is very interested in promoting the Women, Peace, Security agenda internationally and, of course, within the OSCE. This is directly related to the most important challenge for us - the peaceful resolution of the conflict and the security of the population. Naturally, the involvement of women leaders would further facilitate this task," Ketevan Tsikhelashvili said.
The official welcoming ceremony of the President of Georgia will be held on October 12 at the Palace of the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, after which the Presidents of the two countries will meet face to face.
A Georgian-Austrian business forum is also scheduled, in which Georgian and Austrian companies will participate.
