
President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili is set to begin an official visit to Yerevan, Armenia, today, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the neighboring countries.
According to the Presidential Administration of Georgia, the President will be welcomed at Zvartnots International Airport by Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Tigran Khachaturian.
The visit includes high-level meetings with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian at the Presidential Palace, where the two leaders will hold both one-on-one and expanded-format discussions. Following the talks, the presidents will make joint public statements to the media.
President Kavelashvili is also scheduled to meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Garegin II.
Accompanying the President is a senior delegation including Head of the Presidential Administration Ketevan Kvinikadze, Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, First Deputy Chairman of Parliament Giorgi Volski, MPs Samvel Manukian and Sumbat Kyureghiani, and Presidential Advisor on Foreign Relations Luka Ekhvaia.
