
President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili held a meeting with key representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), including Alejandro Hajdenberg, Head of the IMF Mission; Jeroen Clicq, Executive Director of the Fund; and Andrew Jewell, the IMF’s Resident Representative in Georgia. The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace, according to the Administration of the President.
The discussion centered on Georgia’s current economic trends, with a focus on the positive outcomes stemming from ongoing development efforts. Both sides reviewed the existing partnership between Georgia and the IMF and explored avenues for deepening cooperation.
Despite ongoing geopolitical challenges, it was noted that Georgia’s prudent and consistent fiscal policies have produced positive results across multiple sectors of the economy.
President Kavelashvili expressed appreciation to the IMF team for their continued support in promoting macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline, and structural reform in Georgia.
