
During the National Teacher’s Award ceremony on October 27, President Mikheil Kavelashvili expressed deep gratitude to Georgia’s teachers, emphasising the need for their work to be properly recognised and supported. He reaffirmed his commitment to fair pay, better social conditions, and stronger motivation for educators, noting that recent government initiatives—such as the National Teacher’s Award—represent significant progress.
Kavelashvili also welcomed the new initiative by Education Minister Givi Mikanadze to honour five outstanding teachers from each municipality across Georgia. He congratulated all laureates for their dedication and patriotic service, highlighting their vital role in shaping the nation’s future.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Minister Mikanadze, and other officials. National Teacher’s Day is celebrated annually on October 27, recognising exceptional educators with a medal, the National Teacher’s Award, and a cash prize.
