
Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Following the meeting, President Kavelashvili stated that Secretary-General Guterres commended Georgia’s chosen path, recognizing the country's resilience in the face of significant pressure.
“Secretary-General Guterres thanked us for choosing such a correct path of peace, stability, and development for Georgia. Everyone sees and acknowledges this, and such positive assessments are truly encouraging,” Kavelashvili said.
According to the President’s press service, the discussion highlighted Georgia’s contribution to regional stability, particularly its role in promoting peace in the South Caucasus. Global challenges and the need for coordinated international responses were also key points of the conversation.
The meeting underscored Georgia’s commitment to its international partnerships and its continued efforts toward sustainable and peaceful development.
