
President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili took part in a ceremonial event in New York marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The event brought together world leaders to reflect on the organization’s mission, global impact, and key achievements over the past eight decades.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, addressed attendees, underscoring the importance of multilateralism and renewed global cooperation.
The Georgian delegation accompanying President Kavelashvili included Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Davit Bakradze, Ambassador to the United States Tamar Taliashvili, and Head of the Presidential Administration Ketevan Kvinikadze.
As part of his visit, President Kavelashvili is set to deliver a speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, focusing on global peace, security, and Georgia’s strategic priorities. He will also attend an official reception hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, organized for the heads of participating delegations.
Additionally, Kavelashvili is scheduled to hold several high-level bilateral meetings, including a key discussion with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
