The Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States. In his message, President Kavelashvili expressed optimism that under Trump's leadership, the two governments would be able to "take relations to a fundamentally new level."

He stated, "I have great hope that under his leadership, we will be able to elevate Georgia-United States relations to a fundamentally new level. I wish President Trump success in achieving the goals he has set, in upholding the declared values, and in addressing global challenges."

Trump was sworn in as the 47th US President on Monday during the inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C.
