Georgian PM to visit disaster zone in western Georgia

“Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili left for the area in western Georgia’s Shovi resort hit by a landslide on Thursday,” - the Government Administration of Georgia said.
About 400 firefighters and rescuers of the Emergency Management Service, police units and representatives of all relevant agencies are being involved in the rescue efforts.
Irakli Karseladze, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, said the rescuers were currently searching for about 35 missing people, after 210 were evacuated.
The Georgian Ministry of Interior has so far confirmed six deaths in the disaster.
