
The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, within the scope of his visit to Germany, met with Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia.
It was pointed out at the meeting that the two countries currently enjoy productive and successful cooperation across a variety of areas, and prospects for future relations between the countries were discussed.
Focus was made on tourism, and the potential between the two countries in this sphere was underlined.
It was noted that, as a result of the Government’s prudent policy, direct flights between the two countries promote the development of trade and tourism.
The parties discussed the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, the implementation of which will bolster the volume of business and trade in the future.
According to the Head of Government, the development of business-friendly relations with Saudi Arabia will foster the entry of greater numbers of investors.
After the meeting, the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia invited Irakli Gharibashvili to his country’s exhibition stand. The Prime Minister, together with his delegation, visited the exhibition space of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was briefed by the Minister of Tourism on Saudi Arabia’s tourism projects and innovations showcased at ITB Berlin. The Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia presented the Prime Minister with traditional handcrafted memorabilia.
