Reportedly, the meeting held at the government administration focused on further deepening relations between the two countries in all areas. Talks touched upon the importance of sectoral cooperation, the potential for the development of bilateral trade and economic relations and the strengthening of cooperation in the field of tourism. It was noted that Georgia appreciates Slovakia's support through specific projects and targeted assistance programs.
Attention was paid to the challenges posed by the pandemic and the importance of joint efforts in overcoming them. The Prime Minister thanked the Slovak Minister for Foreign and European Affairs for his support to Slovakia in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath.
The meeting focused on Georgia's European process and noted that the Georgian government is preparing to make a formal application for full membership in the EU in 2024. The forthcoming Eastern Partnership Summit-related issue was underlined. Irakli Gharibashvili reaffirmed the commitment of the Associated Trio to the common European aspirations.
The importance of enhanced engagement and integration between the EU and the Associated Trio and the active support of Slovakia in this process was underlined. It was also noted at the meeting that Georgia appreciates Slovakia's involvement in the implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP).
Ivan Korcok reaffirmed to the Prime Minister Slovakia's strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. The focus was on the problems of the population living along the occupation line and it was noted that Ivan Korcok would personally get acquainted with the situation there today. Irakli Gharibashvili thanked the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister for the involvement of Slovak monitors in the EU Monitoring Mission.
