Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and the members of the board of directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development discussed the successful cooperation and important ongoing projects in private and public sectors implemented with the support of the Bank.
"Irakli Gharibashvili praised the EBRD’s support as invaluable for Georgia in terms of financing priority areas of the country. It was emphasized that the Bank had invested about €5 billion in 283 projects in Georgia, with the sides expressing hope that the fruitful cooperation would further continue," - the Government Administration said.
The conversation also touched on the ongoing structural reforms in the country and the progress achieved on the path of democratic development. The sides stressed the Georgian Government’s effective policy in achieving double-digit growth in the economy over the last two years amid the existing challenges.
Positive trends in tourism were also highlighted at the meeting, with the parties reviewing large infrastructural projects aimed to increase the country’s energy security and independence.
