The free press is indicative of both the country’s level of democracy and its democratic aspirations. Our country’s media environment has changed over the years, but today we have a free, independent, and pluralistic media domain. Once again, I wish a Happy World Press Freedom Day to all journalists and wish them success in their professional endeavours,” Gharibashvili said.

On World Press Freedom Day 2023, UNESCO will organize a special anniversary event at UN headquarters in New York, marking 30 years since the UN General Assembly’s decision proclaiming an international day for press freedom.
