Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has accused opposition figures Mamuka Kharazadze and Badri Japaridze of building their political narrative on a “false premise” regarding the Anaklia deep-sea port project.
Speaking in Shindisi, Kobakhidze stated:
“Kharazadze-Japaridze built their entire political campaign on the false premise that the state obstructed them regarding Anaklia Port, when in reality the state supported this project from start to finish.”
He labeled the duo's political and business conduct as dishonest, pointing to constitutional amendments made to support the project and attract investors.
“Despite comprehensive state support, including a constitutional provision, they failed to bring in investment and ultimately abandoned the project,” he said.
Kobakhidze added that international arbitration confirmed the state’s position, yet the pair continues to push what he called a “false narrative.”
“When someone stubbornly persists with lies at times like these, their motivation becomes clear,” the Prime Minister concluded.
