The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, responded on social media to a report by Politico claiming that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio declined a bilateral meeting with the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

“This is what happens when Brussels is preoccupied with reckless activism instead of pursuing responsible foreign policy,” Papuashvili wrote.

According to Politico, the EU’s chief diplomat “has been kept out of the spotlight, given her sometimes difficult relationship with the Trump administration.”
