During his visit to Hungary, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Italy and Luxembourg, focusing on political developments and Georgia’s relationship with the European Union.
“We had a very friendly meeting with the Speaker of the Italian Parliament, whom I had also met during my visit to Italy,” Papuashvili said. “Our colleagues expressed strong support for Georgia. We discussed ongoing political issues and EU-Georgia relations. The Speaker of the Italian Parliament reaffirmed his full support, emphasising our shared goal of strengthening parliamentary ties to enhance Georgia-EU relations further. In this regard, we received unequivocal backing.”
Papuashvili is currently in Budapest attending the Conference of Parliamentary Speakers from EU member and partner countries, where advancing Georgia’s European integration remains a key priority.
