Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has expressed optimism about a potential reset in U.S.-Georgia relations as newly appointed Ambassador Tamar Taliashvili prepares to present her credentials to the U.S. President.
Speaking on Georgian Public Broadcaster’s Actual Topic with Maka Tsintsadze, Papuashvili said, “We hope this moment will serve as an opportunity to reset our bilateral relations.”
He noted that the U.S. President granting agrément to Ambassador Taliashvili was already a positive signal.
Papuashvili also made a pointed remark, stating that both the U.S. and Georgia face a common adversary—the so-called “deep state.” He said, “We understand its methods and goals. Now the task is in our hands: to defeat it.”
