
The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, has departed for New Delhi on an official visit, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation.
According to the Georgian Parliament, Papuashvili will hold a series of high-level meetings in the Indian capital, including discussions with the Speakers of both the Lower and Upper Houses of the Indian Parliament and senior government officials. The legislature noted that this is the first official visit of such high rank in the history of Georgia–India bilateral relations.
The delegation includes Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee; Shota Berekashvili, Chairman of the Economic Policy Committee; Vasil Chigogidze, Head of the Friendship Group with India; and Greta Tsitsava, Deputy Chair of the Georgian Dream faction.
