
The Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Georgian Parliament, Paata Kvizhinadze had a meeting with the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund, Selim Cakir.
At the meeting, Paata Kvizhinadze introduced the 2023 priorities of the committee's activities to Selim Cakir. Georgia’s macroeconomic stability, fiscal and monetary policy, inflation, current situation in the banking sector and further plans were discussed at the meeting.
At the meeting, they also talked about the current three-year program (Stand-By Arrangement) with the IMF. Once again, the importance of the mentioned program in the macroeconomic stability of the country was emphasized.
According to Selim Cakir, Georgia is an exceptionally advanced country in the region in terms of the program implementation. The Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee Paata Kvizhinadze and the Resident Representative of the IMF expressed their readiness for active cooperation in Georgia in the future.
