The Budget and Finance Committee of the Georgian Parliament concluded its discussions on the draft law for the state budget for 2025, which is set at ₾32.4 billion ($11.85 billion).
Giorgi Kakauridze, First Deputy Finance Minister, stated that the ₾32.4 billion mixed budget would fully cover all state commitments.
The latest draft shows an increase in expenditures by ₾1.2 billion ($440 million) compared to the original proposal, allowing for additional funding in various sectors as part of the Government's program.
The updated budget estimates include a privatization forecast of ₾500 million ($182.82 million), while tax revenues are projected to reach ₾25.3 billion ($9.25 billion), exceeding initial expectations by ₾3.25 billion ($1.19 billion).
The following allocations have been outlined for various ministries:
- Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs: ₾8.82 billion ($3.22 billion)
- Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure: ₾3.13 billion ($1.14 billion)
- Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth: ₾3.08 billion ($1.13 billion)
- Ministry of Defence: ₾1.73 billion ($630 million)
- Ministry of Interior: ₾1.40 billion ($510 million)
- Ministry of Economy: ₾947 million ($346.25 million)
- Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture: ₾808.1 million ($295.47 million)
- Ministry of Justice: ₾442 million ($161.61 million)
- Ministry of Sports: ₾298.4 million ($109.10 million)
- Ministry of Culture: ₾297.6 million ($108.81 million)
- Ministry of Finance: ₾121 million ($44.24 million)
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs: ₾215 million ($78.61 million)
Paata Kvizhinadze, Chair of the Committee, highlighted that economic growth had enabled increased funding across all sectors. He also noted that nearly all 24 recommendations made during the initial review of the draft had been addressed, with only two still under consideration.
