
In the second quarter of 2025, the number of trips abroad by Georgian resident travelers reached 715.1 thousand, marking a 2.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to preliminary data from Geostat.
Key Highlights:

Outbound visits totaled 564.3 thousand, up 0.4% year-over-year.

Tourist-type visits accounted for 385.8 thousand, a 7.1% increase.

Age group 31–50 dominated both total trips (45.1%) and outbound visits (48.3%).

Women made 46.7% of all outbound visits.

Main purpose of travel: visiting friends/relatives (34.9%).

Average length of stay rose slightly to 6.4 nights (from 6.3).

A large majority (98.2%) of outbound trips were repeat visits.

Total travel expenditures in Q2 2025 amounted to 583 million GEL, down 1.9% from the previous year.

Despite a modest rise in travel volume, the data indicates a decline in per-visit spending, reflecting either more budget-conscious travel behavior or changing destination patterns among Georgian travelers.
